The History and Story Behind Our Club.
Back in 1972 my father purchased two Model D John Deere Tractors to plant rice and help pay for the new house he and my mother were building. A few years down the road when my brother graduated high school he decided to restore one of the old tractors. Now back in the 70's people were not really into restoring old tractors. Most people thought he was wasting his time fooling around with and fixing up the old tractor. Fortunately, for our family and the rest of our club; it sparked an interest that would later grow into The Acadiana Antique Tractor and Engine Club founded in 1995. To protect our name and organization it was legally incorporated on February 28, 2000 as a non-profit organization. Above is a picture of him on his 1933 Model D binding rice.
Location and Members:
The Club's actual location is a small town named Crowley, Louisiana located in what is known as The Rice Capital of The United States right in the middle of the Parish of Acadiana. We currently have sixty-eight members and we are still growing.
